PROJECT
LBD Chandelier
CONCEPT
Low Frequency Audio Controlled Light Bulb Display
DETAILS
Audio signals below ~100Hz trigger a wave of intensity sweeps across the grid of light bulbs. Higher bass impulses trigger brighter waves, in a randomly rotating pattern. The audio is fed into a microcontroller for analyzing the sound, which transmits messages over WIFI to the chandelier to control the wave and intensity patterns.
USAGE
Click on VIDEO link below to see the audio response. On/off state, intensity sensitivity, and low frequency cutoff are controlled using OSC messages, primarily on a mobile device with a custom interface design using the TouchOSC app.
